Jupiter Hills Club

Jupiter Hills Club is a gated, private golf community in Tequesta, Florida, spread across 366 acres between the Intracoastal Waterway and Jonathan Dickinson State Park. The community holds 215 homes ranging from two-bedroom cottages to six-bedroom estates. Jupiter Hills sits on Seminole Ridge, a natural sand ridge that gives its two golf courses a rare thing for South Florida: real elevation change. Unlike many of the country club communities I work in, golf club membership at Jupiter Hills is optional, not mandatory, for homeowners.

What I tell clients about Jupiter Hills is that it's one of the few places in this market where the golf history actually predates the real estate. This started in 1969 as George Fazio's personal project, backed by Bob Hope and auto industrialist William Clay Ford Sr., built on land that was once part of Jonathan Dickinson State Park. The homes came later. That order shows in how the community feels today: understated, golf-first, and genuinely private rather than just gated.

Golf

Jupiter Hills Club has two 18-hole championship courses. The Hills Course, designed by George Fazio and opened for play in 1970, was renovated by Tom Fazio in 2006 and again by Tom and Logan Fazio in 2020. It sits at the top of Seminole Ridge and is known for dramatic elevation shifts, unusual for a Florida golf course. The Village Course, designed by Tom Fazio, opened in 1978 and was renovated in 2017. Golf Digest ranks the Hills Course #4 in Florida for 2025-26, and Golfweek has named it the #9 Best Private Course in Florida (2025), #89 Best Modern Course in America (2025), and #24 Best Residential Course in America (2026).

Jupiter Hills has hosted four USGA championships to date, including the 1987 U.S. Amateur (won by Billy Mayfair) and the 2018 U.S. Amateur Four-Ball, and has been selected to host two more: the 2027 U.S. Mid-Amateur and the 2032 U.S. Women's Mid-Amateur. The club also hosted U.S. Open final qualifying in 2007, 2008, and 2017, and the Florida State Amateur in 2008 and 2013. Founding architect George Fazio built the club's early reputation on charity pro-ams that drew names like Sam Snead, Byron Nelson, Gene Sarazen, and Ben Crenshaw to raise money for Jupiter Medical Center.

Instruction & Practice

Jupiter Hills' instructional staff includes Jason Baile, a Golf Magazine Top 100 Teacher, and Brad Faxon, a PGA Tour winner and Ryder Cup player, as the club's Director of Putting. The team also includes Judy Dickinson, a World Golf Hall of Fame member, and Lance Gill, former Director of the Titleist Performance Institute. A dedicated golf performance and training facility rounds out the practice offering.

Clubhouse & Amenities

Jupiter Hills sits behind a gated entrance and includes a formal clubhouse, three swimming pools, multiple tennis courts, pickleball courts, and a fitness center. The community is directly adjacent to Jonathan Dickinson State Park, giving residents easy access to hiking and biking trails, and sits close to the Intracoastal Waterway for boating.

Membership

Club membership at Jupiter Hills is optional for homeowners, not a requirement to buy, which sets it apart from most of the country club communities in this market. For those who do join, initiation runs $250,000 to $275,000, with membership capped at 400 and offered by sponsorship and invitation, typically off a multi-year waitlist.

Real Estate

Homes in Jupiter Hills currently range from roughly $1.275 million to $7.9 million, with an average sale price around $2.8 million and inventory tight at any given time across the community's 215 residences. The record sale in the community is 18588 SE Ferland Court at $6,500,000, one of only eleven homes directly on the Hills Course.

Location & Schools

Jupiter Hills sits in unincorporated Palm Beach County near Tequesta, close to the Gardens Mall and Abacoa Town Center. Families here are typically zoned for Limestone Creek Elementary or Jupiter Elementary, Jupiter Middle School, and Jupiter Community High School, all part of the Palm Beach County School District. The Pine School, a private school in nearby Hobe Sound, is also close by.
