Bears Club

Bears Club is a guard-gated golf community in Jupiter, Florida, founded by Jack and Barbara Nicklaus in 1999 and built around Nicklaus's 18-hole championship golf course and a nine-hole par-3 course. The community is limited to 99 total residences: 55 estate homes, 13 vintage estates, 17 golf villas, and 14 club cottages, most on lots of an acre or more. Homes typically range from the low $2 millions for villas and cottages up to $48 million, the price of 152 Bears Club Drive's 2025 sale, the most expensive home sale in Jupiter and inland Palm Beach County history. Membership is required to purchase in the community.

In my experience, Bears Club has some of the most magnificent estates in Jupiter, set on huge lots in a fantastic location with incredible security. Golf Digest has reported that the club counts about three dozen elite touring professionals among its members, one of the highest concentrations of PGA Tour pros of any club in the area.

Golf

The 18-hole championship course was designed by Jack Nicklaus as the realization of his vision for the finest possible private golf club. The layout winds through pine ridges, wetlands, and cypress heads, with 354 bunkers placed throughout the course, a design inspired by Nicklaus's visit to Royal Melbourne Golf Club during the 1998 Presidents Cup. A nine-hole par-3 course and full practice facilities, including a driving range and putting greens, round out the golf offering.

Membership

Membership at Bears Club is by invitation, with both resident and non-resident golf tiers and a waitlist for new members. Golf Digest has reported that the club counts about three dozen elite touring professionals among its members, along with prominent business and entertainment figures, making it one of the most concentrated pro-golfer addresses in Jupiter.

Amenities

Members have access to a full-service clubhouse, fine and casual dining, a fitness center, a swimming pool, and Har-Tru tennis courts. The property sits on 369 acres of former farmland once owned by John D. MacArthur, transformed into a golf community with lakes, wetlands, and mature pine landscaping that feels more like the Carolinas than typical South Florida.
